Paul is part of the youth training team at Youthworks and he’s also helping out at Rosemeadow Anglican Church.

FOR PARENTS

Communicate, communicate, communicate
Try to understand the MySpace world
Computer in public (e.g. lounge room not bedroom)
Shoulder surf - discourage secret keeping
Remind to be cautious (think before you post)

FOR SOCIAL NETWORK USERS

Make your profile private (and pics etc)
Don’t add strangers
Limit the use of personal info
Report red flags (“block user”, “mark as spam”)
Regularly clean up your profile

July 3 – Porn and the Internet

How can a teenager be a Christian online when the internet is filled with so much porn and dodgy sex stuff? This talk covers the dangers of the internet (porn, online bullying, sexting, etc). It will be suitable for and sensitive to both guys and girls. How can we strive for online purity? Dave is presently studying at Bible College and hanging out with youth at Willoughby Anglican.

July 10 – Being Organised
Roger Phillips (Christian Counsellor, Dentist and SWAC member).

We’ll cover the concept of ‘boundaries,’ and the idea that lack of organisation can lead to stress overload. We’ll look at Jesus as a role model.
