Thembalethu means Our hope.

Thembalethu Ministries is a ministry of Melville Union Church in Johannesburg, which supports, trains and encourages homeless people.

SWAC has partnered with Melville Union Church for several years. A mission team visited Melville in 2003, Andrew Robinson from SWAC worked as part of the Thembalethu team at Melville in 2007-2008. SWAC is supporting Thembalethu ministries financially in 2009.

Jonathan Moonien was appointed
as the first full time director
in early 2009. 		  Todd Khupe joined
Thembalethu Ministries in 2008
and is associate director.
