Church lends support to Burmese orphans

Members of Springwood/Winmalee Anglican Church are busy preparing for their annual garage sale which raises much-needed money for orphans in Burma

The church has donated more than $30,000 to the CNEC (Christian Nationals’ Evangelism Council) Grace Haven orphanages in Burma since they started supporting the charity in 2001. Their help is needed more than ever this year as the country recovers from the effects of Cyclone Nargis which devastated the region in May 2008.

The garage sale will be held at Christ Church in Springwood (entry via Charles Street) from 8am-l2noon on Saturday, April 18. A wide range of quality goods will he available for sale. Dealers are asked to be considerate of the cause the church is supporting.
